CLAS Certificates of Competence

These consist of four days, or two weekends, of intense tuition on various aspects of calligraphy and the lettering arts. The first course CLAS ran was Gilding and Traditional Skills, closely followed by Colour and Texture. Other courses since have concentrated on Gothic Scripts, Italic, Uncials and Early Hands.

It is possible for an individual or a local calligraphy group to get together sufficient people to make any of these courses viable, and run it in their local area.
