Jean Larcher

Lettering artist, born 1947. Works and lives in the suburbs of Paris. Has studied metal typography mid 60's. After designing more than 650 logotypes and pieces of calligraphy during 34 years of freelancing, mainly for advertising, press and industry, he now dedicates his life to different one-off works and participates in numerous exhibitions in different countries. Occasionally teaches throughout Europe. Very recently was invited to display his calligraphic work in Russia. Jean's work is represented in the Fitzwilliam Collection in Cambridge.

Pieces of work

Experimental Alphabet (special piece), 2006
This expressive alphabet was rendered with ruling pen and brush in black gouache on Ingres d'Arches MBM paper. The small lettering was written in red gouache, executed with a Brause nib. Dimensions: 650 x 500 mm.
