Gothic Fraktur Script with Julia Baxter
Four two-hour session on the following dates:
• Wed 23/10/24
• Wed 06/11/24
• Wed 20/11/24
• Wed 04/12/24
Time: 7-9pm BST/GMT

This course introduces one of these scripts, Fraktur. It is still wonderfully dense in texture and has great decorative qualities, evoking the styles of medieval book hands.
Copperplate Script with David Simons
Four two-hour session on the following dates:
• Thu 24/10/24
• Thu 07/11/24
• Thu 21/11/24
• Thu 05/12/24
Time: 7-9pm BST/GMT
CLAS Members: £95
Non-members: £120
This course will cover a brief history of Copperplate and analyse good examples from the past. We will examine and apply the stroke sequences for each lowercase and uppercase letter. Learn how to connect letters with the correct strokes and appropriate spacing. These techniques can be combined to produce a finished piece of Copperplate Calligraphy.
Versals with Jan Mehigan
Four two-hour session on the following dates:

This course will begin with a brief history of Versals, followed by the basic letter forms and their structure, spacing and application. Suitable for all levels.

Learn how to plan and prepare a course outline with step-by-step progression and session plans using suitable teaching/learning methods and well-designed resources, appraising work, and offering positive feedback. You will be expected to produce planning documents and your own handouts.
