accredited tutor assessments
Any tutor who is a member of CLAS is welcome to apply for accreditation.
requirements for accreditation
- The applicant must have attained at least the CLAS National Diploma at Intermediate level with a merit, or an equivalent standard. (Please click on the link to the application form, at the foot of the page, for a list of other acceptable calligraphic achievements). This is mandatory.
- The applicant must either have a recognised teaching qualification (acceptable qualifications are listed on the application form), or undertake a written study “Developing Students’ Learning”. This is an in-depth description of how you plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate a programme of work with a class, and should cover 8-10 consecutive two-hour lessons or an equivalent series of linked workshops with the same students. Details of what is required can be found by clicking the link below.
- The applicant must submit their own exemplars in the following hands: Foundational, Roman Capitals, Italic and Uncial. Other hands may also be included if wished. Guidance on producing exemplars is available on the link below.
