fellows

CLAS Fellowship is the highest level within the CLAS Ladder of Progress.

Successfully achieving the Fellowship level within the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society (CLAS) grants individuals the privilege of using the letters “FCLAS” after their name. While typically requiring a high pass (70% or above) at the Advanced Level of the CLAS National Diploma of Calligraphy, holding the National Diploma at this level is not obligatory for application.

Fellowship status signifies exceptional skill, dedication, and contribution to calligraphy, inspiring others in the community to strive for excellence while reinforcing CLAS’s mission to advance the art of calligraphy and lettering.

commissions

Many of our Fellows accept commissions and are willing to be contacted when you are looking for a calligrapher to create a special piece of work.

Whether it’s envelope addressing, wedding invitations, a family tree, a poem, or a piece of heraldry, there will be a calligrapher who has the skills to fulfill your commission.

We suggest you look at the list of CLAS Fellows and contact them directly. Additionally, there is a link provided below to a broader listing of calligraphers, letterers, and illuminators who are members of CLAS and available to accept commissions. This will give you an expanded choice and the ability to select from artists available in your area.
