Introducing the Little Books SIG (limited to the UK)
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Little Bookmakers Group – a space for enthusiasts to explore the diverse possibilities of bookmaking, from simple concertina designs to intricate structures. Books can be any size, from tiny treasures to A5 masterpieces.
The group’s activities will take place entirely online, apart from the swaps, making it easy to participate while connecting with fellow bookmaking enthusiasts from across the UK.

about book swaps
We’re aiming for two book swaps each year:
- First Swap: Starts 1st February, with books to be completed and sent by 30th April.
- Second Swap: Starts 1st September, with books to be completed and sent by 15th November.
Each book should be no larger than A5 and include calligraphy or lettering. You’re welcome to add illustrations, images, or other creative elements to make it uniquely yours!
The format or theme for each swap will be shared ahead of time, and you’ll be invited to confirm your participation. Don’t worry—you’re not obliged to take part in every swap, so feel free to join in whenever it suits you.
Once your book is finished, take some photos to showcase your hard work. The Co-ordinator will then provide you with the name and address of the person to whom you’ll send your book.
Each participant is responsible for posting their book to their designated recipient. Adding a short note about your creation is a thoughtful way to share your inspiration. To ensure safe delivery, it’s recommended to use tracked or signed-for mail.
After the swap, the Co-ordinator will collect photos of all the books and share them with the group via WeTransfer. This way, everyone can admire the wonderful creations!

get ready for a creative year: 2025 book swaps!
first book swap of 2025
Start Date: 1st February 2025
Completion & Sending Deadline: 30th April 2025
To kick off the year (and our new group!), we’ll be creating a classic concertina book. The book should be no larger than A5, but the content and style are entirely up to you! Whether it’s minimal or intricate, with just a few pages or many, feel free to express your creativity. Don’t forget to add a cover to complete your design!
Key Dates
- 9th April 2025: Please email the Co-ordinator to confirm your book is finished and include photograph(s) of your creation.
- 30th April 2025: All books must be sent to their allocated recipients.
A Quick Note:
With Easter falling at the end of April in 2025, please factor in any holidays or additional responsibilities you might have. To help accommodate this, the deadline for confirming your book’s completion has been brought forward to 9th April.
